They can still eat shit since they STILL fund anti-lgbtq organizations, to my knowledge.
- PlantJam@lemmy.worldEnglish5 hours
I don’t care if they still fund it or not. When somebody shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
- Nollij@sopuli.xyzEnglish2 hours
With a corporation, that gets complicated. IIRC, it was the CEO and/or other top executives, not the company itself. And those executives are now gone, but still funding the same atrocities.
The new executives still aren’t great, so it’s easy in this particular case. But what if they really were different?
- PlantJam@lemmy.worldEnglish2 hours
I like their food and their service is top notch, so I’d be glad to see positive change from them.
- PlantJam@lemmy.worldEnglish3 hours
In this case, Jesus chicken has always been anti lgbtq. Their long history would prevent me from forgiving them for that, but maybe if it was under new ownership or something.
- PlantJam@lemmy.worldEnglish2 hours
I have no problem forgiving people if that’s what you’re getting at. There’s a difference between forgiveness and excusing bad behavior, though.
- cheesemoo@lemmy.worldEnglish2 hours
People can change, but how often have you personally seen some MAGA chud or anti-lgbtq bigot realize they’ve been an asshole and change themselves for the better? I won’t say those things never happen, but I’m pretty sure it’s fucking rare.

2 hoursThis isn’t a “body”, its a fucking company. If people weren’t so fucking sedated they would be out of business for their hate
Joelk111@lemmy.worldEnglish
3 hoursFair point, but I’d struggle to forgive a business even more than a person. Sometimes it also doesn’t matter if they change if what they’ve done is awful enough.
- bashibazouk@lemmy.worldEnglish6 hours
Christofascist chicken or AI fueled burgers…hmm, maybe I’ll just get some tacos.

One extra large order of the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, please. To go.

They can do whatever they want, still not supporting them. Their food isn’t good.
- 51dusty@lemmy.worldEnglish3 hours
They are building a Raising Caine’s near my house. what’s their schtick?
- wjrii@lemmy.worldEnglish2 hours
Star Trek Replicator Chicken fingers. It looks perfect and is always the same, but it’s the type of place where somebody probably got thrown out of a window for suggesting that a pinch of black pepper be put into the recipe. The sauce is pretty decent, but I hope you like it because it’s utterly necessary. Good lemonade too. Founder leans right, but not “Cathy-family” right.
If you live somewhere with a Layne’s Chicken, that’s way better. Popeye’s is generally better too, though it’s traditional fast food grimy versus “pretend we’re fast-casual” veneer that a lot of the chicken places like to do.
- givesomefucks@lemmy.worldEnglish5 hours
That’s just a lie…
The food is good, for “fast” food it’s amazing. Like, I don’t think there’s another fastfood option that hasn’t fully transition to the mcChicken method were the patty is reconstituted scraps.
Their politics with LGBTQ is (was?) absolute dog shit and more than enough reason to boycott them as an isolated issue…
But honestly looking at any other aspect of their company, and they’re one of the most worker friendly options. Which again, is not a high bar to clear, especially in fast food.
So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons. It’s just damn near every other option is even worse, so if they have consistent logic their boycott list is every major corporation. Like, the owner has 10 billion dollars, no billionaire owned company is going to be ethical. If someone’s only issue with Chick-fil-A is the anti-lgbt stuff, that doesn’t mean they’re a good person, it means they only care about the demographic they consider “us”.
But again; saying they’re food isn’t good is just a flat out lie.

Greasy beading that sloughs off the chicken immediately isn’t good by any metric, fast food or otherwise.
They also went to the supreme court so they could determine the healthcare their employees get. Company is rotten

Ok buddy, but:
-
That’s not the norm, and remember, this is in comparison to other fastfood options.
-
If you’re boycotting them, how do you know that’s what it’s like?
But most importantly:
Company is rotten
I said every corporation sucks…
That includes chicfila…
They also went to the supreme court so they could determine the healthcare their employees get.
Not sure why you expect people to know what you’re referring too…
- ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zipEnglish4 hours
No, that is the norm. And has been for years.
Occasionally for work functions, someone else brings some in. And, because I have eyes, I can see them falling apart before even being picked up. And I conclude that I’m still not missing out on anything.
Why go to bat for this shitty food?
-
- brucethemoose@lemmy.worldEnglish5 hours
I contest the food part.
The last sandwich I had there was… fine. Squished, plain bun, thin breading, yet outrageously expensive.
A Raising Cain’s sandwich is way better. Even if price wasn’t a factor, and I couldn’t go local for some reason, I’d much, much rather have Steak and Shake, P Terry, Chicken Express, Rosa’s, Fuzzy’s, PDQ…
- acosmichippo@lemmy.worldEnglish7 minutes
steak n shake is one of the things i really miss after moving to the DC area. other fancy burger places like five guys held me over for a while, but they don’t hit like steak n shake.
- TrackenDaKracken@lemmy.worldEnglish4 hours
You like their food (objective, so there’s no “lying” around that), and so excuse their politics. I get it, it’s like separating the artist from the art. Lots of people pay to see Tom Cruise movies, or now to see Ed Sheeran, or maybe Bill Burr.
Some people don’t.
- givesomefucks@lemmy.worldEnglish4 hours
You like their food
What the fuck are you talking about?
I said compared to every other fastfood place that uses processed chicken patties, it’s good.
Some people don’t.
The other point you e completely missed:
So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons. It’s just damn near every other option is even worse, so if they have consistent logic their boycott list is every major corporation.
How the fuck is “So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons” defending chicfila’s politics?!
I’m saying boycotting them is valid
But only boycotting them is illogical

6 hoursListen, I’m not going to tell them to get bent for doing the only sane thing they’ve ever done, but I’m not throwing them a welcome-to-the-family party either. The lesser evil is still evil and I will continue to avoid so much as letting my shadow darken their doorway.
