The main problem I have with RAM increasing in price is not the RAM itself. I personally have enough RAM in my PC and I’m not looking to upgrade at any point in the near future.

No, my issue is how everything else becomes more expensive because of it.

Infrastructure requires two things these days: fuel and computers. And both are getting fucked over. Because of all the things that rely on this infrastructure, everything, even mundane things, will increase in price.

And when the bubble eventually pops, everyone below the ultra rich will suffer for it, another major economical crash like 2008. And of course the people responsible will get away with it.

But I am more effecient than the cashier. Dunno how it is like where you’re from, but a cashier job is either for people who are nearly retired, or a teenager’s first job.

So, in the same footprint of three cashiers that will have 3 queues waiting around, there can be 12 self checkouts with no queues at all.

That’s only relevant to… I think just one country where self check outs exist. Namely America.

Luckily, self checkouts are expanding in Copenhagen. Seriously beats standing in a line for the next 10 minutes. Such a depressing waste of time.

Anyway, haven’t even had half the issues most people seem to complain about with self check out. I’m guessing it’s because Danish supermarkets don’t half-ass it. Or maybe people are genuinely stupid around even simple technology.

Or maybe you’re just “normal”, or to put it differently; exactly the kind of person why problems are allowed to continue to exist.

Using Discord is giving your data to AI for its training and to the American government, which is enacting all these terrible things. Ergo, staying on Discord because going onto Matrix is mildly inconvenient is taking a privileged and complacent political stance.

Even if America wasn’t doing these things and Discord wasn’t feeding your data to them, using Discord with their they AI scanning all your messages and activities is still being tolerant towards authoritarian surveillance.

Since I already answered most of this in my previous comment, I’ll just copy pasta it:

I judge people on consumption practices that are easy to change. Not me nor anyone can do anything about all the affordable things we need to survive coming from sweatshops or destroying the environment. But Discord doesn’t come even close to approaching any such thing, and it costs literally nothing to collectively dump it. Especially if some technical friends have already done all the technical work _for you._ Fuck anyone who tries to make that comparison.

As for the new thing:

I don’t think yoy need to be putting this much moral burden on Discord that it makes you actively shun people who are otherwise probably not monsters.
