Hi all, I’m wondering how the server’s going and want to toss a bit of money towards it.
Can we get the donation link and an update?
Thanks for keeping aussie.zone going!!
I’ve started my second playthrough of Pacific Drive after buying all of the DLC in the Steam sale.
It says a lot when I finish a game at all and it’s saying a hell of a lot that I’m hooked again on a second play through.
Agreed. Regular (not modifying the source) AI upscaling is great for consumer product longevity and performance.
It’s how I recently got 4K 120fps when I hooked my PC to a TV. It’s also how someone with an older GPU can play newer, more graphically intensive titles without having to buy an upgrade.
If it’ll have similar results for PlayStation, I have no idea, but it’s not a bad technology.

This might get me to pick the game up again.
I bought it to play with friends because the robots and story setting seem great. But then quickly realised group play is (essentially) 100% PvP which avoids the reason I thought it was interesting.
I tried solo play because I heard the community playing solo were more PvE oriented but: 1. It’s not as fun without friends and 2. After a couple of bad encounters I was kind of over it.

Now we are ready to sail for the Horn
Weigh hey, roll and go!
Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn
To be rollicking randy dandy-oh!

I’ll copy my comment to another post with a similar/same article:
Definitely not new and the way the articles headlined I thought there was some sort of ad in iOS that was blatant that I hadn’t noticed.
Using the same language as the article (not very accurate) “iOS users don’t use the settings app and won’t see ads.”
Just to be clear for those that wooshed; people do go into settings but it’s not like every user is staring at the settings app everyday. The ads also aren’t very intrusive, so comparing them to the Windows start menu ads, which the article does, is ridiculous.
In summary; ads are bad and crap sensationalist reporting is also bad.

If I travel overseas in the future I’ll be doing a full backup and wipe of my phone. Take my holiday pics or whatever and transfer and restore everything when I get back.
Even Australia is starting to make deals with groups to take complete copies of devices at the border. Screw that! I’ll at least try to limit what they can get.

This is honestly a valid question. We live in a time where even if what you are doing is in the boundaries of the law you may have to protect your identity to avoid the threat of lawsuit.
This is a good example. Paid for the game but don’t want it to be always online or whatknot? Don’t go tampering with EA’s game you naughty boy/girl.
I think about the times I’ve downloaded mods for games like the original Dawn of War or Star Wars Empire at war. Legality was never a question especially since those mods were still in-universe in those franchises but now licensing agreements mixed with more hostile and litigious publishers could make you a target for lawsuit.
