It’s more common with younger folks but since even my own father spends hours a day on Youtube while being “too busy” to watch movies anymore. I’m not going to say it’s only a young person thing.

It’s annoying when you ask someone if they’ve seen a film you loved. Only for when you start talking about it, they reveal they just watched a Youtube summary and ruined the whole thing for themselves…

For me running pipewire as a service even with the aid of wireplumber didn’t work at all.

I had pipewire as an autostart script in KDE for it to work. ONLY that worked, not even launching it manually from the terminal worked.

I’m gonna disagree on this point, I tried Void both on a VM and a spare SSD and I found the documentation was lacking. Or in the case of getting pipewire working I had to go to Reddit to find a workaround as none of the official ways to set it up worked on my systems. And it was far from the last time I had to find an undocumented solution to an issue I was facing.

I really like the idea of a completely independent distro purpose built instead of just “scraping the mold off” existing distros. But I had enough headaches with Void that I ended up on Artix, which mostly has worked out the same as Endeavour/Arch which I was using previously.

Hopefully I can try again in the future and have a better time, since I do applaud the developers for multiple reasons.

The lack of headphone jack is still a deal breaker for me on phones. My first flip-phone needed a dongle to use and I think I wore out or lost about 4 before getting an iPod. I never want to go back to that…

Currently using a Sony Xperia 1 III running LineageOS. Really hoping the upcoming Motorola/GrapheneOS phones have a jack…

I have and ended up picking DeaDBeeF over it.

Think music players are the software I’m most picky about and have switched multiple times. I’m kinda stuck between using Audacious and DeaDBeeF at the moment.

Either something has all the features I want but looks bland or outright ugly, Or it looks really nice but is lacking in playlist management or some other weirdness.

I don’t think I’ll ever find “the one”.
