Quad9 DNS is a not-for-profit run by Quad9 Foundation based out of Switzerland.
They offer recursive resolvers, DNSSEC, DoH, DoT, QUIC protocol, they have the standard IPv4 and IPv6 plus have malware blocking/filtering and ECS or choose everything unfiltered.
Benefits are no-log policies, private, no data sold or shared per the transparency report
I’ve been promoting and advocating for them for probably close to a decade when I found them as a tech support guy. Personally, I’ve got my workplace setup this way, any friends and family, other businesses I consult for, and my VPN custom-configured to utilize these services.
You won’t be disappointed! I’ve been in the tech/IT space since the late 90s (fuck I’m old) and I started getting weary of shit online since the late 2010s. I really started my privacy dive in 2015-2016 when I got rid of all social media. Never had an issue with Quad9!

Quad9 is forced to block pirate sites because of French censorship. https://torrentfreak.com/french-piracy-blocking-order-goes-global-dns-service-quad9-vows-to-fight-241212/
I’m sorry to hear. Not sure, but it’s that all DNS services that have to block torrents? Can’t they use a VPN?

If only they had an option with ad blocking.
