  • Vanadium was built with security at the forefront of design, not privacy. They’re two distinct disciplibes.

Hopefully no GrapheneOS users read this. I’m so fed up with being told: “YoU cAn’T hAvE pRiVaCy WiThOuT sEcUrItY” over and over whenever I say there may be tradeoffs.

  • I quite often switch between multiple European languages, and can basically type any character in any of them using a US-international layout, with dead keys.

I can make all French and Italian accents, German Umlauts, and put a Tilda on the n for the Spaniards. Both uppercase and lowercase letters.

  • I tend to agree, but I have occasionally seen my fellow AI skeptics behaving horribly towards people that decided to use LLMs in their own development of their own project.

The Lutris drama comes to mind, but I was also not very happy to find out that the creator of Booklore had deleted his repo after being fed up with all the harassment.

    And there’s plenty more.

Sure, it’s been forked, but what the hell people, it’s his project, which is for a self hosted ebook library anyway, nothing that’s supposed to save the world. Could you all be cool? Please? At least in the github issues?

I even think you’re right on the issue, but just because you’re right doesn’t mean you have to be such a dick about it.

  • I mean, you are on a privacy subreddit, e don’t mention how much exposure you’re willing to tolerate, and exposure to who.

With a Chromecast your streaming provider knows what you’re watching, and Google know what you’re watching.

Using a degoogled android means giving up on high end widevine support, which means that even if Netflix (or everything else) works, you’ll be stuck at 720p low quality.

By pirating, putting everything on a Jellyfin server, then streaming via upnp no one is watching (maybe your TV manufacturer, depends) and maybe you don’t even need a streaming box, but of course a used Nvidia shield with lineageos will make for a better experience.
