not too different than how oil futures are set, and those are a reasonable indicator for gas prices.

If I were in their shoes I wouldn’t either, reducing the cut now increases the chance you would need to increase it later which for a platform largely thriving off goodwill would not be the smartest decision.

I remember looking into this years ago, desalination is a reasonable solution (for houshold usage in developed nations) at only a few times the ridiculously low water cost we have now. Agriculture is the issue because it currently depends on insane amounts of cheap water dispite there being more water efficient methods of growing crops (indoor hydroponics).

how could you feed anyone for that little (per year, let alone permanently)?

the $20 phone I got is almost completely unusable as a phone, but for browsing social media/playing music/readin books in the shower it would probably last a few weeks while being cheap enough to not care about replacing it.

I wonder if slopping webapp alternatives together would provide a close enough alternative

you don’t need new phones, and I personally have purchased new phones (horrible carrier locked smartphones) for about $20 about 3 years ago.

you can find plenty of phones for $100-$400
just remember that raid is not a backup
