maybe try zlibrary telegram bot
it’s nothing complicated, if you want an easy to launch shortcut you can look into Termux Widgets and write a shellscript
needs root, but you can just write 0 to the sysfs brightness file (/sys/class/backlight/…/brightness or smth like that)

fyi XLibre is a Xorg fork by some MAGA who thinks ^ in C is for exponential not xor
yes i did read it. the original name had pretty good recognition among linux nerds already, it’s kinda long but usually shortened as pmOS so i don’t see how problematic that is.
and the new name just seems too generic/unmemorable… imagine you hear “postmarketOS running on Galaxy S10” and you instantly know its some alternate OS ported to that phone unlike “Nura on Galaxy S10”. It doesn’t even have “OS” in the name…
i don’t get it. their previous name was way better.

nice phone! all of my phones i tested (with replacable battery) refuse to work without battery attached and almost instantly turns off if i ever detach it while running, even with power connected.

install ACCA to restrict battery charging current and capacity for safety
is this related to fosscord/spacebar?
T490. i personally had issues with dell laptops a few times. (hinge problem, coating on palmrest/trackpad peeling) also, i don’t like dell laptops’ keyboard layout but this is just personal preference.
and 8gb more ram for $60 seems decent in todays prices. (afaik it’s soldered so not even upgradable?)

it seems like they’re trying to operate a torrent mirror of huggingface? but then, what’s with that “Claim your handle” message? kinda looks fishy overall…

you mean like irc-matrix bridges? i think you can use matterbridge…

i’m starting to think these people either don’t read the post body and only the title. or they’re bots? lol.
really don’t get it. they’re probably not paid to shill immich or something…

because i don’t want to use podman/docker? if you read the OP and the rest of the thread you wouldn’t have posted this comment…

yeah, it’s only job is to serve photos yet it needs a whole linux container to run… i get why some people like it but i said it’s not what i want.

it’s not that the deployment process looks hard. it’s an extremely complex piece of software, something that only provides “container” (read: full linux image) method for deployment because it’s too complex to install manually. if something ever goes wrong inside that container, i won’t be able to fix it.

no, it’s more about that i don’t want a separate linux installation on my freebsd server, all with its meaningless attack surfaces and such. i want something lightweight, and i specifically mentioned immich isn’t what i want in the OP. yet you folks are all downvoting and trying to persuade me to try that. no, i’m not using that.
after hearing it a few times i’ve tried it before and it’s not what i want. even ignoring the server part i hate that clunky google photos ripoff web interface.

it’s really not reliable especially for non techies. plus it’s a real p2p so…
just setup XMPP
just tested now, it works
