I used to think gambling should be allowed from a sort of social libertarian-ish perspective. Nowadays, I would be in favor of an outright ban in all forms of gambling, betting, or any other name someone wants to give to the same activity, which includes the stock market.

It’s a rigged game, and the ones who win are the ones who rig the game to begin with.

No idea how that could realistically be enforced with things like exchanging currencies, crypto trading (which can be legitimately useful if wanting to avoid dragnet financial surveillance using something like Monero or wanting to bypass payment processor oligopolies, like when Visa/MasterCard strongarmed PornHub to delete all non-verified videos as an example of an abuse of their power), scalping/trading physical goods, etc., but at the very least, all other forms of direct gambling with money can be banned in the meantime.

I wonder if they spend time on Linux mobile devices, considering how niche they are.

But then again, security through obscurity is not real security, and I’m not aware of any reasonable way to run something like QubesOS on a phone in any way that would be usable.

Using FreeMCBoot is a bit outdated now that things like OSDMenu exist, which is a modern open source replacement.

Also if you don’t already have a memory card running the SD2PSXtd firmware, I would highly recommend getting one. You can load games and homebrew off of it through the MMCE protocol which is nice for slim models, you can have unlimited memory card images which will autoswitch when you load a game in NHDDL or OPL (NHDDL being the more modern game loader frontend built on top of the very lightweight and versitile Neutrino), and you can download pre-exploited boot images from the Internet so you don’t have to go through any installation steps.

1. Get yourself an SD2PSX or BitFunx PSXMemCard Gen 2 (they’re the same thing). I recommend these specifically since they support the MMCE protocol which allows you to load games off of them as well as loading the exploit and saving essentially an unlimited amount of games to a single microSD card. NHDDL with Neutrino is the modern day game loader that supports all of this.

I’ve been using Matrix for over a decade now. How is it a shitshow?

Shout out to Matrix, which is federated, self hostable, open source, and supports end to end encryption.

The app i use doesn’t display vote information. I just know that in order for federation to function with voting, vote data must be shared across servers, and is therefore public.

I don’t know of any app with an option to view that information.

All votes are public on the fediverse.

The problem is the system that allows for corruption to exist in the first place.
