I think principles are a pretty darn good reason not to engage with a thing.

There is literally no possible way you don’t know how big a raging transphobe Rowling is, and if you’ve gotten this far in the conversation, that ignorance can only deliberate.

She has though literally written what, two books where the villain is an evil cackling trans murderer?

It in fact affects every aspect of her life, her media included
You can also confirm these things trivially easy and ohhh I get it now, you’re a troll. Congratulations, I fell for it too.

Linux@lemmy.ml•People always making fun of Linux update for making their sound or networks drivers stopped working. While Windows update outright corrupt your biosbycaseyweederman@lemmy.ca
10 daysThe running kernel is not removed. Most (if not all?) distros will keep multiple previous kernels for fallback purposes. Some relatively recent projects will wait for system calls to complete and redirect new ones to the updated equivalent (see Live Kernel Patching).
The reason some things stop working is because the kernel modules directory is replaced. The running (old) kernel tries to access a module for a newer version and says nope.Arch Linux has the package kernel-modules-hook which backs up the old modules and points the old kernel to them while it’s running. I’m not sure why it’s not installed by default.

13 daysThe La Mulana sound track is amazing.
I really need to play the sequel already. I even kickstarted it.

You’re implying a lot (and incorrectly), and your tone just makes me sad for you. Is this a pathos thing? What’s your goal here?
