Imagine if you and your little group of friends commited even 100 violations of some people’s privacy. Just a little peeping tom group selling people’s personal information and data… You’d all be locked up for years or at least paying out the ass to near financial ruin…

But be a corpo with thousands of “friends” committing millions of violations… and suddenly, no one can be held accountable anymore. No one is actually personally, criminally, at risk. So, as long as they make enough to tank whatever paltry fines… there’s no risk, they can just keep doing it.

I’ve never gotten the so-called one/done scripter/guides to work. At first I was running ProxMox (which I don’t know enough shit about) on a miniPc, and then I have a separate NAS I’ve owned for a ~decade. I could get Proxmox LXC scripts to work (sometimes) but then getting them to see eachother, and have static IPs, and setting up the VPN, and a webfront end (all of which I don’t know shit about)…

I gave up on all that shit… so now… I have Proxmox… running a VM of a HomeAssistantOS… and HAOS has Jellyfin/Sonar/Radar apps running… and I download shit on my main PC and then drag them to the NAS storage. It’s all… a shitshow, I get it, it’s a shitshow…

But it’s still way more organized than when it a just a explorer/folder structure and VLC player, lol.

I might take you up on that at a later time (too busy over this weekend). I know just enough to be a danger to myself.

I wish I knew how to set up shit like this. Meanwhile I struggle trying to figure out how to set up Jellyseer, the ArrStack, and VPN/Torrent bullshit… I can watch jellyfin at home… that’s about it. And I have to download sepeartely and then move things to the the storage because I don’t know how else to do that shit safely.
