We’ve had ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence) for a long time. But words have different meanings, and when the layperson uses intelligence, it’s not LLMs. It’s got a lot of laypersons fooled, no doubt there, but that doesn’t mean they’d consider it intelligent if they could get past their own brain fooling them by the presentation. Once you see how it makes mistakes, you realize that it’s not. It’s useful as a tool if used correctly, but so is a hammer.
It’s not the AI that is the problem. I do mistrust it (and you can lack trust in a system that isn’t intelligence, misalignment happens in more than AGI). But it’s the humans making stupid decisions for money and glory vs. considering the risks. The humans will make mistakes that will cause things to get out of control, we aren’t at a level where the AI is intelligent and out thinking its creators. We just have dumb creators, which is funny because to do that work requires being smart. Maybe just not enough street smart, certainly not in the ones making the decisions.

How much loss is there for a converter? I always thought that for the most part they were pretty efficient. Unless you’ve measured and found a difference, you might be trying to solve an issue that isn’t a huge one.
I’ve been very happy with my Cyberpower setup, and the smaller one is powering my router and monitors. It’s still 650VA, so will roughly match the time the larger one would keep my computer alive. I’m not running a server though, so it might still be low for you, but 12V 5A doesn’t seem like a large pull.
