Writing code was never “the job”
You have some kind of trauma that makes you cling and ask about this idea but no, writing code is a way of saying programming. The act of coding. Your idea of someone that only press buttons for someone else is fabricated. It did exist as a job, when we used punch cards, but that is not what you mean.
It’s idiotic to continue arguing that a coder and coding is not interchangable with programmer or developer, that you don’t understand what people mean and mansplain about a job that never existed, except long ago when they had women make punch cards that were already written. It’s utterly useless to teach a difference in words that is wrong and a distinction that doesen’t exist. Do you think the layman will start to use your dissasociated term for coder and hallucinate a job description that doesen’t exist.
