While a chatbot has been demonstrated not to be a private diary, it will be interesting to see if the courts agree that she intentionally use her diary to communicate or thought that someone else would read it. Like most users of dear diary she probably thought her secrets were safe and her diary would never tell.
Most EVs charge at home doesn’t mean it’s not cheaper than fossil fuel even using the charger down the road. As for convenience, using a public charger is like pouring fuel in at the petrol station.

The world economy is about $126US trillion this year and $6tn if close to 5% of that total. Given that this is mainly US investment, the US economy is about $26tn so $6tn is about 23%. Huge numbers and I assume that there will be winnowing as the industry shakes out so most of that investment will evaporate as companies go under.
They say this data centre is $17b. It really makes you wonder where the revenue to pay for it comes from.
They would like it less if it was $1m per day but even that if a tiny amount compared with the cost of the data centre.
Not really extreme. The whole concept is bonkers. What right has a company to destroy the night huge numbers of people and not mention wildlife.
My assumption was that she never intended that someone else would read it therefore wasn’t transmitting it for that purpose. She was technically ill informed. Once that’s out of the way then it’ll be should the diary entry be considered in the context of the Minority Report? People are usually encouraged to write down negative thoughts and feelings to get them out and hopefully float away.
