No, my point is that even if the AI was 100% correct and gave humanity the best advice to solve all of our problems, we still wouldn’t follow it. Because we don’t want to. We live in a society that’s broken on purpose, and a lot of people want to keep it that way, and have convinced a great many people to support things against humanity’s own interest.

This is why I’ll never believe the claim that AI will save humanity. It may well give the answers to “save us” but we already know the answer. We just don’t care. We’re not going to listen to AI if we don’t listen to ourselves.

If his data only exists in one place, it’s at high risk of being lost anyway. The cloud is not a backup. Plenty of stories of people losing data in the cloud because of bugs/mistakes, companies closing down, hardware failure, etc.
It’s all just performative to make you think as if the government actually cares. The fine they receive is another kickback (bribe) for allowing the company to build the thing in the first place.
The government doesn’t want it to stop, it’s in their interests to keep it going.
