At least I’ll know which of my three phones to keep in pocket (I’ve got a Pixel 9a running GrapheneOS, iPhone 13 and Microsoft Lumia 435 Dual SIM).
Just some dude from central Europe. 🇸🇰
Happily spreading pro-EEA, pro-Slovak and pro-Graphene propaganda material.
https://dasmat.us/ and @[email protected] btw.
Please try not mind my English, ok?

the AI company (Signal […])
AFAIK Confer is independent from Signal.

It’s also happening in Linux through fwupd.
Yeah. But you at least have the incentive to upgrade.
I still have my GTX 1660super I want to upgrade to something better so that I can save on my AI subscription (unlike a sub you actually own it and can run whatever open weight model you desire).
If you allow the profile to run in background, you can receive the notifications, though keep in mind it won’t be that detailed.
Just install Ollama and pull a model from their registry.
Just keep your main profile from GMS and GMS-dependent apps.

Set up profiles: one for your day-to-day activities and one for your proprietary apps and GMS. I also have one profile for all things Musk and one for WhatsApp.

When it comes to apps on your main profile, you should keep it as Google-free as possible.

Same with your home screen. It’s supposed to be as useful and not provide access to every app you have installed (another operating system does this).
I have GMS installed but on a separate profile.
Signal so you can actually communicate with your relatives and HeliBoard for a nicer keyboard.

Plus the verification. If it’s FNS-based verification, then I’m all for it.
Keep in mind they’re more likely to search for alternatives when this will be in force. We already have a federated equivalent for every platform there exists.
So if this passes we should start pushing Fediverse to masses by every means possible.
At this point just get an e-bike or a normal bike if you have calories to burn.
Please don’t expose your services to the internet directly. Use something like Tailscale/Headscale/whatever mesh VPN is relevant now. It’ll always be 100 times better than this and you wouldn’t worry about Authelia, f2b and CrowdSec (though updating your services and server(s) is always worth it).
I’d rather VPN to some EU country east of Berlin if I were you.
Slovakia has some copyright laws but they’re not that strictly enforced. Also no c&d letter equivalent has arrived to my physical inbox for what I’ve done on the Internet.
