„We bought all the RAM and will rent it back to you later.“ -„AI“ companies

The thing that really bothers me is the title claiming OP did something when AI did it based on stolen work.
The Switch 2 is massively more cheaper in Japan and locked down tightly from what I understand. I‘m not even sure they would ship one out of the country without asking a few questions.

It‘s okay the hackers can just say AI did it somehow and no charges will be pressed. Source: The entire AI bubble right now.

I take a market crash of apocalyptic proportions over a cloud dystopia any day.

Restaurant reservations, job applications, apartment viewing and whatnot. AI is ruining living.

Yeah but look at the bright side: Paying customers are being served ads now too! LMAO to whoever still pays for that.

You took me completely out of context and ignored my core argument just to get hung up on a single word. So much for
We‘re [smarter] than that.

Everything has been pretty much explained by other users already. Steam takes a huge chunk of your income and essentially forces you to offer deep discounts to compete with everyone else. It‘s way too big to not release your game for. Unless you have a huge publisher and go console only (and believe me developers are gamers too and not too fond of exclusivity anyway) you‘re forced to release on Steam where you will make your most sales.
But to add to that Steam also does not offer any support. If you have questions or need help you have to look someplace else which can be pretty infuriating.

AI summaries of videos are already a feature on Youtube so you don‘t miss or even watch anything!

I McDo enjoy me some good burgers. Particularly when I they‘re McNot from McDonald‘s.
I learned about Google‘s lack of respect for privacy in School 15 years ago, though. They‘re the poster child of data harvesting.

Definitely one of the more unique racing games out there. Even if it looks like a Mariokart copy, it actually plays like a real time deck builder game. A lot of untapped potential there.

Read a comment about Nuremberg trials for the rich and AI company execs the other day. This made me think of it.

Apparently there are lots of studies and calculations that indeed suggest games are overall way too cheap for the industry to be sustainable. I hear it from insiders again and again. From small indie studios to industry giants.
And many point their fingers at platforms like Steam to be the culprits. Steam in particular is pretty unpopular among developers overall. Looking at how competitive the market is and how many devs are pushed into burnouts in just a single production I tend to believe them. The current model does not seem to be sustainable for studios of any size.
That said, I think a lot of studios could try scaling down their productions too because I hear about feature creep from the same insiders just as much. They really need better planning.

We do using the 4 boxes of liberty.
Soap box: Freedom of speech. It has already been successful to stop many data centers from being constructed. Make your voice heard at town meetings and social media. If that doesn‘t work because they suppress communication we move on to the next box.
Ballot box: Vote for change. Politicians don‘t listen? Vote other representatives who do. If that didn‘t work because all candidates are corrupt pigs we try the next box.
Jury box: Sue them. There has been success on this level too. Many data centers don‘t even wait for the permit. There‘s a lot of wrenches that you can throw between their gears on a legal level. Besides, a jury can even decide in favor of the town folks on no legal basis at all. Just because they think it makes more sense to stop the data center. But sometimes even that doesn‘t work because corporations already lobbied to bend the laws in advance. Which leaves us with the last option.
Cartridge box: Armed resistance is the last line of defense. This is true for fighting the techno fascist state as it is to fight any enemy of democracy and freedom. It has seen some success to push back against Flock, for example.
So yeah, I would argue a lot is being done already.

With how fast big tech moves to break things there‘s no time for nuance. I‘m not being sarcastic or anything. I‘m serious. We genuinely don‘t need all that computing power. It makes live only harder instead of improving it at this point because it‘s mostly used to replace us in the job market and spy on us in our free time. So yeah, fight every single data center. Fuck nuance.

Results of surveys can easily be faked. Just ask 1200 people with suggestive questions then remove 200 answers you didn‘t like and say you asked 1000 people. :)
Pretty much what Snowden warned us about yeah. And with everything we know about LG‘s smart TVs I‘m counting on many phones listening to us 24/7.
„We‘re stealing your intellectual property, your infrastructure that you paid for and your land to rent it back to you later. Please do not resist.“ -AI industry
What else needs to be said other than, yeah, these criminals have lost the plot.
