This is why all model design should be AI generated, so it doesn’t make anyone feel anything at all.

I didn’t realize this finally came out. The Steam reviews are not looking great at all.

6 daysI haven’t checked the reviews, so I don’t know of any actual problems with it, but in a lot of ways they set themselves up for failure.
It’s been in development for what feels like fucking forever, so expectations are high. It’s the successor to a massively popular game that influenced so many memes and a decent bit of online culture, so even without bloated expectations it has huge shoes to fill. Lastly, it’s the sequel to a game that relies entirely on user made content to thrive, so there was always going to be a big gap (which may never actually be filled) while you wait for users to make new content for the new engine or to transition existing content over.

This is why you should seek out audience feedback before release.

They did, but in the worst way-
It’s been in closed beta for years, most people on the forums disliked the neckless NPCs since they were first introduced 8ish years ago - but those with beta access were full of toxic positivity, ‘yes men’ - who all decried the negativity as just a small band of haters.
Later, after the game released it turned out almost no one likes the neckless design and it’s genuinely turned people off buying the game.
Remember - Toxic positivity helps no one.

6 daysthis game’s character models have been shown publically for like eight years, i don’t know why it’s suddenly a problem now. i like the sausage people personally, they’re unique. not that they are the focus of a gmod successor, really
