I didn’t know Paramount even had a video game division.

    • Well, guess I’ll start spreading the word about it here: I just got Lantern of the Laughless Saint the other day, and it’s pretty fun.

What did me on it at first was the fact that right off the bat they say they’re trying to recreate the magic that Morrowind helped us all feel back when we first played through it, and it’s hitting that certain itch ngl. It’s quite janky, as it’s early access (and the devs are kinda sorta leaning into that as well, but hopefully not too much), but there’s definitely a charm there that I’m excited to see more of in the future.

Apparently it’s also technically a prequel to another, bigger “Scrolls-like” that’ll come down the line.

      • That does sound cool. Glad the genre lives. The main ES-type thing I’m looking forward to is Skywind, the latest demos look amazing. Have you seen them?

I’m on more of an isometric kick lately, Noah Gervais’ video about Pillars of Eternity got me started on those games. Feels really civilised to just sit down and play through a good book.

I’m sure there’s a very interesting story about Annapurna. Larry Ellison bankrolled both his children’s media empires, but Annapurna has been focused on indie gaming and films.

I’ll venture maybe Megan Ellison was too left-leaning for arch-conservative Larry, who saw a more appealing successor in David, but who the heck knows what billionaires and their children think.
