Redcore is a gentoo fork, I have it installed due to it being anti ai, but haven’t spent much time with it yet
RedStar being North Korean would be way down my list along with usa, israel, and russian distros

No idea what your day to day is, or what you consider “unique and creative”, or why that would be selection criteria for an os though.
Linus snr suggested that someone should fork the kernel if they want no ai. Fingers crossed that it happens.
Agreed, I really want to see this for linux distros and desktop environments, the list is far too small, and far too niche at present.

ai as it is now, owned by the people who own it, pushed by the people who push it, is the exact opposite of the linux philosophy for me. If I wanted microslop, I would still be using it.

At some stage it is highly likely that will lead to significant government restrictions on open source because ‘unregulated ai’ cannot be trusted, and is always ‘escaping’ and ‘hacking’. The powers that be are already able to manipulate the general populace against open source, they don’t need our help.
What type of people own the ai companies?

I would be happy for linux to flatten microslop, it’s just a question of whether it would then turn into it in some respects (2026 has already seem some not some awesome changes).
Somewhat along the lines of: If lemmy becomes as large as reddit, lemmy will become trash like reddit.
