  • We know what they want - to try and dazzle government, enterprise, and civilians with their “magic” and “dangerous if not in the right hands” technology - in order to capture all computing in the cloud and rent it back to us. They’ve already convinced the government and enterprise guys, and they’re pricing consumers out of the market.

They will monitor and summarize your every thought, they will control all that you see and hear, and you will pay them for the privilege. Better not step out of line, or else.

  • The QR stacktrace allows a method of copying the information off the machine, which may now be unable to function any longer.

If this error meant you can no longer boot to retrieve the error it’s goin to take you a lot longer to fix it because you have to now find the problem with no clues.

  • I do not like the idea of password-derived Passkeys, because then acquiring the password is once again all an attacker needs.

Passkeys work now because the device itself is the second factor, the “something you have”.

It’d essentially be a master password like for BitWarden, but instead of needing an app to store a bunch of generated passwords, the master password could be all you need to authenticate.

This exactly how the flow works with Bitwarden now; I’m not understanding how your system makes any changes other than how the passkey is derived.

In fact, that makes things less secure for two reasons: if attackers learn a master password, they can derive other passkeys from it for other sites even if they cannot access the vault (not possible with current passkeys) and if you want to change your master password, all your derived passkeys become invalid and need to be regenerated.

  • The AI industry is:

    1. Propping up our entire economy and retirement savings
    2. removing our ability to buy electronics of any kind
    3. designed to replace workers without a safety net
    4. Designed to watch us all and filter our informarion

So, with the fascist government’s help, they’re building a giant pantopticon while taking away our information freedom, while they siphon away whatever wealth we have until we can’t live anymore, under the threat of total and permanent annihilation if we make it fail.

Yeah, they’re turning the whole country into a concentration camp. If they keep power, expect Border controls. Why do you think ICE gets more money than all other agencies?

  • This was already the inevitability of Android; Google was just willing to spend 15-20 years to achieve as much market dominance as possible. They fought off Palm webOS, Windows Mobile, Linux phones are just now materializing, iOS is huge but having one major competitor isn’t a problem. Now that “the reality of the world means more security is needed” Google will work their way out of any openness they once had. Perhaps even someday their own hardware will be the only game in town. They’re already by FAR the worst company when it comes to harvesting data and profiling you.
