My understanding is they got two whole vials of pentobarbital into her. But she had previously warned in one of her legal challenges that a pre-existing medical condition would prevent the one drug protocol from working on her.

They also couldn’t find a vein at all, and used old drugs in an untested combination (which is pretty standard because drug companies don’t like selling their medicine to prisons so they can use it off label to kill people).
