Basically the title. The version I’ve got installed is a fairly old build and now the courseplay mod doesnt work, so I want to determine how easy/hard it is to update before committing to doing it.

I assume you’re on version 1.20? On the fitgirl page they have a section for updates that go up to 1.23.1, but be aware that you have to do it in steps, meaning you have to download and install the first one before moving on to the next one.
They also have a link to the cs.rin.ru forum page, which has all the same updates. I’m not sure how religiously fitgirl keeps them up to date for every game, but it may be worth to keep an eye on the forum page just in case they miss one in the future

8 daysNahh hahaha, its areally old build. 1.9.0.1. Its been a while since I installed it, and for obvious reasons I havent really been able to update using the update patches :D
Would I still be able to update without breaking my current save, from 1.9 to latest, in stages by doing each patch? Also note Im on linux playing through lutris, so I would need to do everything through the wine prefix

8 daysI looked up the game on cs.rin.ru/forum/
The game thread has updates for pirated copies and online fixes. I’m not allowed to link directly but I think this is fine.
Edit: you probably will have to manually patch the game each version up until current though. A real pain in the ass. I usually just redownload the whole thing, honestly.

Unless farming simulator did something really weird during a specific update, all saves should be forward compatible. I would do what the other guy said and just download the most recent available version and apply the later patches to that. If you’re using Lutris you can delete the game files (not the prefix, just the folder with the exe) and point Lutris at the new exe

7 daysSo I could also just backup my save folder, install a separate version of the game with the latest version, and check if my saves work correctly then. I’ll give that a shot
