It depends on the country. Some countries don’t give a shit about piracy.
As others said get a VPN (depending on where in the world you are this might not be that important if you’re country doesn’t care about western copyright mafia much) and then check out:

If you’re only talking about the download process, and you are downloading at home, then a trustworthy VPN is the (only?) way to go. I’d look into Mullvad or IVPN.

If it’s just a media file it should not be able to access anything except for extremely unlikely scenario. If it’s an application like a game it’s different and the solution depends on your OS.
